Le rail central unique ne sert qu'\u00e0 guider les caisses de la rame.<span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Ci-contre, la copie de l'\u00e9cran de la page consacr\u00e9e au futur tramway Ch\u00e2tillon - V\u00e9lizy - Viroflay du site Extension r\u00e9seau RATP en f\u00e9vrier 2004. et un syst\u00e8me de galets \u00e0 45\u00b0 aux extr\u00e9mit\u00e9s du tramway et entre ses caisses utilise le rail de guidage central int\u00e9gr\u00e9 dans la piste pour diriger l'ensemble des caisses du tramway.\n\nCette technologie Translohr a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e depuis un certain nombre d'ann\u00e9es par l'entreprise alsacienne Lohr Industries. Cette entreprise, en graves difficult\u00e9s financi\u00e8res ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, a d\u00fb vendre sa division tramways, Translohr, \u00e0 Alstom (51 %) et au Fonds Strat\u00e9gique d'Investissement, en r\u00e9sum\u00e9 \u00e0 l'Etat (49 %). C'est donc la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 NTL (New Translohr) qui construit d\u00e9sormais les tramways Translohr.\n\nLes tramways Translohr roulent dans un certain nombre de villes:\n<ul>\n \t<li>en France, \u00e0 Clermont-Ferrand depuis 2006, entre St Denis et la gare de Garges-Sarcelles (ligne RATP T5) depuis juillet 2013 et entre Ch\u00e2tillon et Viroflay (ligne RATP T6) depuis d\u00e9cembre 2014 \/ mai 2016<\/li>\n \t<li>en Italie, Padoue depuis 2007 et Venise-Mestre depuis 2010<\/li>\n \t<li>en Chine, Tianjin depuis 2007 et Shanghai depuis 2009<\/li>\n \t<li>en Colombie, Medellin depuis 2016<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<em> Attention, les tramways qui roulent \u00e0 Caen et Nancy n'utilisent pas la m\u00eame technologie. Celle-ci a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e par \"La Brugeoise et Nivelles\", ancienne filiale de Bombardier Transport.
